what is cannabis oil?
Cannabis oil is a term applied to the oils extracted from the cannabis plant flowers, leaves and stems. Cannabis oil contains over 100 cannabinoids and can be extracted from either medical marijuana or hemp plants. Cannabis Oil is not Hemp Seed Oil nor is it extracted from seeds. The cannabis oil extraction process removes the plant’s naturally thick, viscous oil from dried or fresh cannabis. Medical Grade cannabis oil will not get you intoxicated ("high", "Stoned") while providing many medical benefits. In fact, in recent studies, isolated cannabinoids in cannabis oil have shown very promising medical benefits in humans.
WHAT ARE CANNABINOIDS?
Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that naturally occur in abundance in the oil of the Cannabis plant. Cannabinoids are also found in the human endocannabinoid part of the central nervous system. These chemicals have beneficial effects on the human central nervous system and immune system, leading to pain relief, mood enhancements, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and other bodily functions. Today, over 100 cannabinoids have been identified and isolated from the cannabis plant.
WHAT ARE ENDOCANNABINOIDS?
Simply put, endocannabinoids are transmitters, or more properly, neurotransmitters. They are chemicals which transmit signals through the brain by way of specialized, complementary receptors.
These signals are important for numerous functions in the human body including those involving pain, inflammation, and mood. Endocannabinoids may be endogenous or plant-based. This simply means that they may be naturally-occurring within the body or introduced from an outside (plant) source.
In other words, endocannabinoids are a natural and normal part of the human body processes and systems. And the body (brain) has special receptors just for their use.
